NT: ALP victory shows you can't flirt with One Nation - Martin
Northern Territory Labor leader CLARE MARTIN says their performance in Saturday's election
illustrates the danger of flirting with One Nation.
Labor is on the verge of a historic first election victory in the territory, with the
Country Liberal Party government likely to fall after 26 years.
Ms MARTIN says the CLP deeply offended many Territorians by giving preferences to One Nation.
She says she's pleased and proud that One Nation polled poorly, and says it reflects
the Territory's strong Asian ties and Darwin's role as Australia's gateway to Asia.
Ms MARTIN's told radio 2GB the CLP's decision to put Labor last and not One Nation
offended Darwin's multi-cultural community.
She also say the CLP has also been in power for too long.
Counting resumes today in a Darwin electorate of Millner, which could deliver the Territory's
first Labor government.
Labor has already claimed 12 seats in the 25-seat Legislative Assembly.
